Environmental Integrity takes secure data destruction very seriously because we know how important it is for our clients to feel secure in the knowledge that no one can get access to any personal or confidential information that they had on a hard drive. We can recycle any form of media including hard drives, floppy disks, DLT Tapes, VHS Tapes, Zip Disks, Thumb Drives, CDs, Memory Sticks, Flash Drives, and anything else you can think of.

Any form of media that once had data on it can contain files or information that we don’t want to share. Environmental Integrity knows this and offers several solutions for secure data destruction as part of its electronic recycling program. It’s easy to wipe a drive, but sometimes information can be left behind and it can be quite difficult to get all the data totally removed from the media. Because of this, we offer internal drive wiping capabilities up to the standards of the Department of Defense if needed. Because sensitive data that could be recovered by a specialist searching for it may be left on a reformatted drive, the the Department of Defense has standards to totally erase any data on a hard drive, through multiple layer rewrites and multiple passes, ensuring secure data destruction. We can perform media sanitation with DOD 3 or 7 pass wipe, more than enough to make it next to impossible for even the most skilled data specialist to get anything from a drive.

For many of our customers drive wiping isn’t enough to secure their information, in which case we will shred it and materially destroy the information. In our 40,000 square foot building in Holyoke, MA, we have an on-site, 100 horsepower hammermill shredder that pulverizes and shreds anything that’s put through it. More and more data is being stored on electronic devices, including the ones we intend for electronic recycling, and much of that information is personal or confidential, total material destruction is often the only way to feel comfortable that your information is completely safe from being accessed by someone else.
